Hi, I’m Kristian Hansen, creator & founder of LOVING BEING CLEVER!

And who am I you ask? Well, I’m in love with real estate, particularly house hacking (which I didn’t even know was a thing until I was already doing it) I love traveling, blogging, personal finance, health & fitness, business, investing, and sharing information I find interesting in the world we live in today.

I’m originally born and raised in the city of Melbourne (the big smoke), the second biggest city in Australia. It’s a pretty cool place 😉 It’s AMAZINGLY rich in culture and food makes it a place TO DIE FOR!

If you ever do make it to Melbourne I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to an AFL game (Aussie football) the atmosphere is unreal! Oh and grab a coffee and my local cafe “Degraves” on Degraves ST (off Flinders St) for the best coffee of your life!

These days, Brisbane is where I work and live. A sunny state North East of Australia where the weather is warm and the air is sweet. It’s amazing to be able to drive for an hour to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!

The wildlife is here is pretty unique as well, with Kangaroos, koalas and our native birds just make it a treat to live here 🙂

When shit hit the fan

A few years ago, I had to see a doctor about some swelling in my grind area that was starting to worry me. I had scans done and the doctor called me back into his office the next day, I couldn’t believe what he told me next. Shit, it was testicular cancer…..Shit.

The next few days were just a whirlwind of emotions and feeling i couldn’t really digit properly at the time. But conversations quickly proceeded with the next course of action, a hasty removal of the tumor.

In the middle of all this, my grandfather was ill in hospital as well. He died due to complications a week after my surgery. Talk about a double whammy.

Fortunately, I’m still here to tell the tale today and my surgery was a success. The cancer was successfully removed without any relapse. Thank f$!@*!

Those two weeks flipped my world upsidedown and left me pondering to myself really asking questions and searching for better answers.

MY BIGGEST MISTAKE

What is life about? Why am I here? Why do things turn out the way they do? What I discovered, I wasn’t living my passion or doing anything I really enjoyed. The weekends were ok, I guess, as it was mostly a distracting escapism from the 9-5 drudgery.

My first mistake was that I wasn’t listening to my inner desires, I was listening and taking everyone else’s career advice. “Get a job, get married, work 50 years then live the dream”. What’s the point?

I needed to find something that got me excited to be alive and do something meaningful to the world.

I wasn’t happy working in a job that wasn’t moving me forward, so i starting looking inside of myself to try find what made me happy.

The process up to this point had done its damage! Now It was time to make some changes!

The second decision I knew I had to make, was that in order to make good decisions, I have to start using my head. The human brain is the best tool we have! I had to get healthy and start trying some new things.

ACTION TIME

I switched jobs, moved to the city, and distanced myself from people who weren’t going to raise me to my new aspirations. It’s not that they were bad people, not at all. They were just on a different path to me and there’s not much I can do about that.

I don’t hold on to bad feelings because there’s just no point. I Just make sure I keep moving forward, identify problems, solve them and keep going.

To keep elevating myself up, I knew I had to make some better decisions. As I wasn’t going to achieve anything by standing still!

Pretty quickly, I began seeing measurable changes and started getting self-confidence in my own decision making. I was doing more of the things I enjoyed, like associating with people I related to. Now, the momentum really starts.

Loving being a clever LEARNING MACHINE!

So I began reading every book I found on topics like success, human achievement, money and habits!

One night, I was watching a random youtube video when an ad broadcasted with a guy from the U.S promoting a self-development course.

His pitch was quite intriguing, and I was really captivated. The system he was selling was aimed at identifying what your true alignment was in your life and how it affects pretty much everything. Your health, your wealth, love and happiness. And for about $200 I thought. Heck, I Bought IT!

To this day, that has been the best investment i have ever made.

MY FIRST BUSINESS VENTURE

Two years of manic, full-time learning, excitement and soul searching later I put in an offer on my first home. It was, by far, the scariest, most fulfilling day of my life, and something I’ll never regret!

I was nervous at first but its something Iv always wanted to do, so I’m so happy I held my breath and took the leap!

The thought of purchasing a house and how to manage such a thing was daunting….now I can say for sure that I am completely hooked! I feel like a mini business owner managing something that’s mine and delivers value to someone else. It’s a pretty cool feeling! I never thought becoming an entrepreneur would be the best decision I would ever make! It’s been such a surreal fulfilling endeavor! 🙂

From a young age, I always knew I wanted to get into real estate in some way or another. Just a few years ago I thought, “Well I might as well get in sooner than later, there’s no gain in waiting”.

A house is an asset that appreciates over time and the cashflow just keeps putting money in your pocket. It’s like having your cake and eating it too. With property…. time is your friend.

BIRTH OF Loving Being Clever!

I decided to create Loving Being Clever to spread the word, you don’t actually have to struggle financially or work at a job you dislike.

These days, I can honestly say Iv fallen in love with my life and everything Iv worked towards! I’ve set out and accomplished everything Iv set out to achieve. So now, I want to share everything iv learned a long way.

I started from the ground up with nothing but a high school education and a normal upbringing to now being in complete control of my happiness and destiny!

Let me tell you something…

I wanna say something real quick, I promise you that if you plan and execute on your goals, your life will change. You may not start seeing results straight away, but allow some time, and things will start happening!

The cool thing about your mind is that, change is instant. If you want to change the direction of your life. You just have to make the decision and act on it. That’s it. That’s all that I did!

For me, it’s the process that makes you the person you want to become, don’t ever fixate how long the journey takes, its the process, the everyday stuff that builds the ultimate life you want.

Just focus on what you need to do today and just focus on that! That’s all that matters! Keep learning and keep moving forward.

Loving being clever will contain everything business and personal development related. Health Wealth Love & Happiness. I want to put everything iv learned in this blog for you to absorb, all the best tips, tricks and everything cool I find.

From traveling, investing, business, efficiency and personal development, it’s all going in 🙂

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
